NEW DELHI: Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL), the countrys second largest car manufacturer and the largest passenger car exporter, today announced a cumulative sales growth of 57.5 per cent for the month of August 2008.

Arvind Saxena, Sr V-P, marketing & sales, HMIL, said, Looking at the current market scenario, we are happy with Hyundais overall sales and this again reinforces our belief that if you have a strong product portfolio, it will see you through even in tough times.

The Hyundai products starting right from the Santro and the i10 to the Accent have done exceedingly well and consumers have strong faith in these products both in India as well as overseas and this reflects in the tremendous export growth. We hope that in the coming months the economic conditions will improve so the industry stabilizes, he said.
