Spares supply, dealer training for Nano going on
Mumbai,As boiling Singur forces the Tatas to think of shifting out of Bengal, the sales department of Tata Motors? passenger car unit is quietly carrying on dealer training and supply of spare parts to keep the sales centres and after-sales market ready for Nano launch by October.

?We are doing all the groundwork. We are supplying the spare parts. We are training the dealers. We will be ready by October,? said Mr Vikram Sinha, Head ? Customer Support, Passenger Car Business Unit. He was speaking on the sidelines of the press conference to announce the launch of Indica Vista.

?We may not be able to sell Nano through all our dealers across the country immediately after the launch. But we will make Nano available at all the selling point in a phased manner,? he said.

Tata Motors has close to 300 dealerships across the country. The company is now supplying spare parts of Nano to customer care points attached to select dealerships, through which the company is going to sell the low-cost car.

However, he declined to divulge details about the geographies where Nano is going to be sold in the first phase. He did not even specify the criteria by which dealerships are shortlisted for Nano sales.

?We know that the car would be in great demand in the interiors. Obviously there will be more focus to go to the interior areas,? Mr Sinha said.
